Captains Day / 2026
2026-08-22
Captains Day at Wergs, and the summer fixture delivered a fine day's golf with plenty to talk about by the time the cards were in.
Ian Semple was the man of the moment, taking the top spot and claiming the Captains Day honours with a performance that put the rest of the field firmly in his rear view mirror. A well-deserved win, Ian.
Russell Hinds had a solid day of his own and pushed hard enough to claim the runner-up spot — no disgrace in coming second on a day when Semple was in that kind of form.
Peter Hart, meanwhile, continues his impressive run of collecting the Frog for a second time this season. Peter — though perhaps not the one you were hoping for. Still, the season is long, and better days are ahead.
A great occasion as always. Captains Day never disappoints
