Cleobury Mortimer - Ade Clarke Memorial / 2023

The May SGS event was held at Cleobury Mortimer Golf Club.
Located on Shropshire & Worcestershire border on the back of the Wyre Forrest the course comprises of three 9 hole loops. Members took on the Foxes Run & Deer Park 9's to combine as a par 69 course at 5789 yards.
With the rain bouncing down on the first tee, the waterproofs were out in full force albeit some members braving shorts. The wet conditions provided a real test with some low scores posted on the day with an average points tally of 24.68.
It was 2022 Captain Colin Robinson that took the win on count back with 32 points on his return round following a spell sidelined which was superb to see. James Mason come runner up also with 32 points. With a few nervous faces in the clubhouse post round, it was eventually Bob Potter taking home the Frog trophy for the month.
The next SGS event will be the Summer Salver at Llandridod Wells Golf Club on 16th June. Here's hoping for some better weather and maybe even some sunshine next time out.
