The third event of the SSG season, Captains Day, was held at Great Barr Golf Club.
A excellently kept par 72 course on the outskirt of Birmingham delivered an enjoyable round for all society members despite the wet weather conditions with an average points score on the day of 26. This will definitely be one members are keen to return to when the sun is shining.
Winner on the day having bounced back from the Frog at Calderfields was Terry Thorne with 35 points, followed by the runner up Mark Walker with 32 points. Steve Phillips takes home the prized Frog trophy for the event.
With Captains Day again a success, the society wish to thank captain Bob Cliffe for his continued efforts over the course of the season.
The next event to look forward to will be the 2021 Breakaway at Marriot Breadsall Prior for a full 3 days of golf from 09th - 11th July.
