With golf officially given the green light to resume!

With golf officially given the green light to resume, the 2021 SGS season kicked off with a great day out at Westwood Golf Club, Staffordshire. The weather proved to be a mid-spring treat on the day, and the course was in excellent condition with a challenging sloped front nine and a much flatter back 9 to blow away the cobwebs.

With the event doubling up as both the 2020 Turkey Trot & 2021 Members Wood, it was all to play for. It turned out to be the tale of two Walkers. Congratulations to Kev Walker (photo), who takes the win with 37 points aided by a flash new set of clubs for the event. Dave Sullivan comes runner up with 35 points. Mark Walker (photo) takes home the frog trophy this time.

Kev Walker's win means he also takes the Victor crown for the 2020 season edging out Bob Potter in a close-fought battle.

Thoughts of all Salopian members go out to the friends & family of Ade Clarke.
